The City of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, has taken significant measures to ensure ongoing public safety in recent years.
As part of its strategic initiatives, the City opted to invest in rapid-deployment solar surveillance trailers that could be installed in high-risk areas to increase its security footprint.
The Solution
The City had identified several locations, including parking lots and business districts, that would benefit from the presence of highly visible security cameras.
These locations, however, lacked permanent power facilities, so the surveillance unit required would need to operate independently.

WCCTV’s mobile solar surveillance trailers are autonomously powered rapid-deployment mobile video surveillance systems that can be installed at practically any location.
The unit’s primary power source is solar energy, which charges internal batteries. The batteries have enough capacity to power the units for up to 30 days, regardless of weather conditions, providing unrivalled flexibility.
Solar trailers, standing 20 feet tall and equipped with multiple crime deterrent devices, act as an immediate show of force in areas associated with high crime rates.
They can be fitted with up to four pole cameras, offering remote viewing via cellular connectivity, multi-view capability, PTZ control, night vision and local video storage.
The Result
The trailers have proven invaluable to the City’s overall safety and security strategy, helping to increase public safety at events and drive down crime rates in parking lots and other crime hotspots.
Following the successful implementation of the trailers, the City has secured further funding to expand its fleet of solar surveillance trailers.
